Charlotte L. Miller
January 25, 1938 - December 17, 2025 (Age 87)
Charlotte L. Miller, 87, of Osterburg, went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family, on December 17, 2025.
She was born on January 25, 1938, in Bedford; daughter of the late Charles Harold and Thelma (Bowser) Smith.
On September 17, 1960, she married the love of her life, John W. Miller.
She is survived by her loving husband, John; two children, Deborah Callihan and husband James of Osterburg; and Douglas Miller and wife Dedria of Osterburg; sister, Barbara Smith of Bedford; three grandchildren, Jody Callihan and wife Christine of Silver Spring, Maryland; Tyler Miller and wife Sommer of Osterburg; Alyssa Miller of New Paris; four great-grandchildren, Maeve, Gavin, Everlee, and Ivy.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Dennis Smith.
After graduating from Chestnut Ridge High School in 1957, she worked as a telephone and switchboard operator for 3 years with United Telephone Company, and then spent many years working at various bakeries throughout the area, including over 20 years at Washington Bakery. Her cake decorating skills were exceptional and her pies exquisite. Charlotte loved spending time with the beautiful family she and John built over their 65 years of marriage. She loved being outside working on her flowers or helping John sell sweet corn, watching Dale Earnhardt race, taking summer trips to Chincoteauge, Virginia, and hugging her grandkids. She was a cherished wife, mother, Nanna, great-Nanna, Gram, and great-Gram. She was affiliated with the Bobs Creek Community Church.
The family would like to thank UPMC Home Nursing for all the care they gave her.
Friends and family will be received on Sunday, December 21 from 2- 5 p.m. and on Monday, December 22 from 10 a.m. until the hour of the funeral service at 11 a.m. all at the J. Edward Blackburn Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Blankley officiating.
Interment will be held at the Bedford County Memorial Park.
