May 19, 1958 - January 27, 2026 (Age 67)

CRESAPTOWN – Chris D. Twigg, 67, of Cresaptown, MD, passed away with his loving wife at his side, Tuesday, January 27, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

Born May 19, 1958, in Cumberland, MD, he was a son of the late James C. and Anna Belle (Lawrence) Twigg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Lawana Belle (Twigg) Swan.

Chris graduated from Allegany High School in 1976, where he played football while excelling in academics. Chris was an excellent carpenter and worked in his trade for 40 years, he was a lifetime member of the Carpenters Local Union 1024 and primary worked with Carl Belt Corp, along with many other contractors and jobs.

He loved to bowl, which is how he met his wife. He enjoyed the outdoors while hunting. Sports were a big large part of his life, especially following college football (Notre Dame) and pro football (Redskins), and college basketball (Maryland). Traveling with was very special to him and he enjoyed Canada, Memphis, Nashville, and the best was Hawaii with his wife.

Surviving him is his beloved wife of 25 years, Rosemary “Rose” Twigg, and her son who considered him his father, Brian H. Schurg; a brother, James A. Twigg and wife Sherry and their children J.J. Twigg and wife Missy their children Haylee and Jet, Misty Dotson and husband Bruce their children McKinlee and Miabella; his late sister’s children, Tonya Ross her children Anthony and Arneshia, and Crystal Alexander and her sons Gary and Tim; a large extended family; many friends; and his very special cats, Dolly, Lucky, Cruiser, and Penny.

Visitation will be at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, on Saturday, January 31st from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

A funeral service will immediately follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. celebrated by Deacon Ryan Schmeltzer, OFM Cap..

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, LaVale, MD.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses of Ruby Memorial Hospital for their kind care.
