Christopher Jack Pridgen III
April 20, 1947 - February 10, 2025 (Age 77)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Jack Pridgen III, beloved husband, father, and friend. Christopher, who was a pillar of strength passed away on February 10, 2025, at the age of 77.
Born on April 20th, 1947, Christopher was raised in Charlotte, NC. He was the oldest of four boys born to Christopher Jack Pridgen Jr. and Ervileen Tolbert Pridgen. As a young man, he found a deep sense of purpose serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he was a combat photographer in Vietnam. His time as a Marine shaped him into a resilient and determined person.
Christopher’s personal life was marked by great love. He was the loving husband to his first wife, Mary Parker Pridgen, who passed away after 27 years of marriage. He was lucky enough to find true love again when he met and married Barbara Leifer Woods, whom he called the love of his life. They spent the last 12 years in a loving, dedicated relationship full of laughter.
Chris could be referred to as a bulldog with a heart of gold. He portrayed the strength of a Marine but was one of the most generous people you would ever encounter. He was known to help anyone in need and because of this he touched many lives. Christopher’s giving spirit and his love for his family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Christopher is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Sara Pridgen; his stepsons Nick Randisi, Damian Randisi, Brian Randisi and countless other family, friends and admirers who will always remember his strength, dedication, and generosity.
Visitation will be held at Midwood Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, February 15th, 2025, at 12 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 12:30 PM.
