Clement Helmstetter
April 5, 1936 - December 28, 2025 (Age 89)
LaVale, MD- Clement “Clem” Francis Helmstetter, Sr., 89, of LaVale, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at his home.
Born April 5, 1936 in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Helmstetter was the son of the late Clement J. Helmstetter and Mary F. (Barley) Helmstetter. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 52 years: Judy Helmstetter; his brothers: John and Donald Helmstetter; and a sister: Ann Stahlman.
Clem was a graduate of LaSalle High School class of 1954. He worked at UPS and retired from Yellow Freight Company. Clem was a lifelong farmer and was a member of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish-the Shrine of S.S. Peter and Paul.
Clem is survived by his children: Julia Kidwell (Eddie); Anna Hinton (Chris); Clement Helmstetter, Jr, and Brian Hedgepath; a sister: Rose Marie Armbruster; as well as his grandchildren: Alexander Kidwell (Katie); and Dakota and Addison Hinton; and his great-granddaughter: Everlie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Friday, January 2, 2026, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Mountains Parish, The Shrine of S.S. Peter and Paul, on Saturday, January 3, 2025, at 10:00 A.M., with Father Steve Fernandes O.F.M. Cap as celebrant.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
