Clyde Erwin Eury

November 18, 1932 - May 22, 2021 (Age 88)

Clyde Erwin Eury, better known as Erwin, went home to be with the Lord, who he loved and depended on very much on May 22, 2021. He was saved in his early years, by the Lord Jesus Christ, and was baptized in 1951 at West Monroe Baptist Church, Monroe, N.C. He was the son of Clyde R. and Ruth Jane Miles Eury of Union County.

He is survived by his wife, Pearline Eury; two sons, Dennis Stegall and wife Susan of Hemby Bridge, N.C. and Brandon Chase Eury of Monroe, N.C.; three daughters, Gail Tew and husband Dennis of Daytona Beach, Fla, Teresa Bowen of Monroe, N.C. and Mitzi Eury of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; his step-son, William Sells and wife Vickie of Monroe, N.C. and brother, Max Eury and wife Pat of Winston Salem, N.C. He was pre-deceased in death by a daughter, Sue Wilkerson of West Palm Beach, Fla and by his brother, Carol Eury of Monroe, N.C.

He was very proud of his ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Family was very important to him. Erwin was a Union County Native, but he spent several years in Mecklenburg County and a period of time in Daytona Beach, Fla. He was in the appliance business for 45 years, about half of these years as a District Manager. He served two years in the United States Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean Conflict.

Erwin was an avid sports fan, loving the Duke Blue Devils and Carolina Panthers. He spent three years on the Monroe Recreation Boxing Team. Faith in God was his constant companion.

The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 12:00pm Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church. A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Eury will begin at 12:00pm in the church sanctuary. Interment will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens, Mint Hill, N.C. with military honors. McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe is honored to serve the family of Mr. Erwin Eury

What can I say about the great Erwin Eury. He played an important part in my life in my childhood and as an adult. There was not a finer man on this earth and I will miss Erwin every day for the rest of my life.
