Connie Lou Sachs
June 6, 1936 - September 2, 2024 (Age 88)
Connie Lou (Ross) Sachs, 88 of Youngwood, was welcomed to heaven by her sons and grandson on Monday September 2, 2024, surrounded by her adoring children. She was born June 6, 1936, in Greensburg to the late Albert C. and Charlotte A. (Blystone) Ross. Connie was a compassionate mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and lent her heart to all who she encountered. She was a graduate of Youngwood High School class of 1954, and went on to be a registered nurse and worked in the neonatal unit at Westmoreland Hospital for 38 enjoyable years. Her hard work brought her immense joy, and she always talked about how proud she was to introduce newborn babies to their parents for the very first time. The warmth she exuded was carried into her home, but her love wasn’t just spread amongst her five children. Connie was a second “mum” to many, welcoming all her children’s friends and neighborhood kids. Connie’s home was the place everyone gathered and memories of comfort and security will always be fondly recalled. She was a lifetime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Youngwood, the oldest member of The Youngwood Garden Club, and member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 281. She loved gardening, endless card games with her friends, and never missed a chance to press her luck on slots in Atlantic City and Las Vegas. She also enjoyed watching Steelers games (particularly Troy Polamalu). She leaves a strong legacy that includes being an amazing mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother, and cultivating a strong foundation of love and loyalty for her family. Her presence will be forever missed by her children; Susan Platt (Todd) of West Virginia, daughter-in-law Debra Sachs of Ohio, Jeffrey Sachs (Linda) of Illinois, and Craig Sachs (Juan) of Texas; grandchildren Angela, Patrick, Josh, Abbie, Ali, Andrew, and Shelby; great- grandchildren Gage, Madison, Katie, Alex, Cami, Brie, Gabby, Haven, Leo, and Zoe and; brother Scott Ross (Jayne) of Alabama. Connie was preceded in death by her sons Harry Sachs and David Sachs; as well as her grandson Jason. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the tender care of Redstone Highlands staff and Bridges Hospice for their dedication and support during this delicate time. Per Connie’s wishes, all services and internment are private and entrusted to ASHLEY D. X. NYE CREMATION CARE & FUNERAL HOME INC. 408 Depot St. Youngwood, PA 15697. There will not be any public memorial services, but please consider making a donation in honor of Connie to Redstone Highlands, Bridges Hospice, or other organization that is important to you.
