Cumberland, MD- Connie Mae Turner, 71, of Cumberland, MD passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at UPMC-Western Maryland.
Born June 21, 1955 in Cumberland, MD, Mrs. Turner was the daughter of the late Ivan Crawford and Pearl (Hinkle) Crawford. She was also preceded in death by a sister: Rita Winfield and husband Leonard; a brother: Roger Crawford and wife Gloria; and her sisters-in-law: Sheila Crawford and Susan Crawford.
Connie was a graduate of Fort Hill High School Class of 1973 and also graduated from Allegany Community College. She began her career as an instructional assistant at the Allegany County Board of Education, then owned and operated a day care in her home for a number of years before working and retiring from Allegany College of Maryland as the cafeteria manager. She also helped her brother, Terry, at the Crabby Pig.
Connie loved scrapbooking and gardening, and loved to travel but she also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as her cats, Susie and Gracie.
Connie is survived by her husband of 21 years: Ron Turner; her children: Melissa Moran and husband Chuck; Holly Gurtler; and Bryan Gurtler and wife Melyssa; her step-children: Chris Turner and wife Bess; and Laura Mallow and husband Jason; and her grandchildren: Will and Madelyn Moran; Addie and Jossie Mallow; Savannah, Amber, Jax, and Jeannie Turner. She is also survived by her siblings: Wayne Crawford (Judy); Johnnie Crawford, Dick Crawford, and Terry Crawford; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD (www.adamsfamilyfuneralhome.com) on Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Bruce McBride officiating.
Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
