Cynthia C. Altman

Cynthia C. Altman, 71, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday, October 21, 2023. She was born December 27, 1951, in Greensburg, a daughter of the late George W. and Amelia 'Mollie' Svensik Altman. Cynthia was a graduate of Carlow College in 1973, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree and the University of Pittsburgh with a Master’s in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Master’s in Special Education. She was a psychotherapist for thirty-five years at Westmoreland Hospital Mental Health in Greensburg until her retirement. She also had a private practice for fifteen years in Greensburg. She was a member of the American Psychological Association and the Pennsylvania Psychological Association and presented to their annual convention in Lancaster on child, adolescent and adult suicides. She was also a member of the Greensburg College Club and the American Association of University Women. She is listed in Marquis Who’s Who in American Women; the World’s Who’s Who of Women; Personalities of America. Ms. Altman also became a certified wedding officiant in 2019. Cynthia was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She leaves behind several cousins and longtime friends. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Cynthia, Tuesday from 4 to 8 in the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Ave, Irwin, 724 863-8900. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m., in the Ott Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude or the Shriner’s.
