Daniel James O'Sullivan Jr.

Daniel James "DJ" O'Sullivan Jr., age 31, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025.

DJ was born in Long Island, NY and moved to North Carolina with his parents as a toddler in 1994. He grew up with a love of playing with trains and trading Yu-Gi-Oh cards that turned into finding enjoyment in skateboarding and football, to eventually his one true passion, music.

He graduated from Independence High School in 2011 where he was a member of the Academy of International Studies and played football. DJ went on to follow his dreams with music, performing in shows and in the studio. He was beginning to find a new appreciation in the production of music and learning the arts of that trade at Rey Recordings in Charlotte.

DJ has touched the lives of countless people in the words of his songs, his goofy personality and corny jokes, and his ability to show those he loved how much he cherished them.

He was predeceased by his grandparents, Gerard and Joan McDonough, and Daniel and Kathleen O'Sullivan; Uncles, Dennis O'Sullivan and Robert McDonough; and family pets, Pal and Reilly.

DJ is survived by his parents, Daniel James O'Sullivan, Sr. and Dianne McDonough O'Sullivan; sister, Meghan O'Sullivan Jenkins (Noah), son, Damien; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins in New York, Illinois, Florida, and North Carolina.

A visitation for DJ will be held Sunday, January 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, 7428 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.
