Darlene Joyce Hoak, 83, of New Kensington, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her home. She was born February 1, 1939, in New Kensington, to the late Lewis and Agnes Fulton Hornetter. Darlene was a 1956 graduate of Ken-Hi and was a member of the Eagles Aerie 533 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was awarded Mother of the Year 3 different times, and St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, both in New Kensington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
Darlene is survived by her husband of 55 years, Marcus Hoak; son, Ricky (Lori) Hoak; grandchildren, Rachelle and Nicole Hoak; great grandchildren, Jaydon, Quinn & Camron; and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in the Joseph J. Cardaro Funeral Home, 1125 Kenneth Ave., New Kensington, 724-337-3325. Parting prayers will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, March 18, 2022, in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, New Kensington. Entombment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. The Eagles Aerie 533 Ladies Auxiliary will hold a service at 6:00 PM on Thursday, March 17, 2022, in the funeral home.
