David Geiger Sr.
January 4, 1943 - October 15, 2024 (Age 81)
David J. Geiger Sr., age 81, of Irwin, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2024. He was born January 4, 1943 in Braddock, a son of the late Clyde and Florence (Burk) Geiger. He was a Vietnam Army veteran that went on to work as a forklift operator for Westinghouse Corporation and then for Larry Lint Carpeting. He was a Boy Scout volunteer leader, a HAYAA football coach and a baseball coach for the Hahntown Wendel Athletic Association. He was a member of the Trafford American Legion 331 and the Irwin Moose. He was an avid Nascar fan that enjoyed attending as many races as he could. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Russell Geiger; and sisters Florence Lourtsenhizer and Doris Ireland. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years Corrine (Brandau) Geiger; children David (Pamela) Geiger Jr. of Lancaster, South Carolina and Scott Geiger of North Huntingdon; grandchildren David Geiger III (Fiancé Jordan Marrow and her daughter Penelope) and Alex Geiger; god daughters Debbie Brien, Tammi Mirarchi, Nicole Gunkle and Megan Gunkle; brother Thayer Geiger of Trafford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main Street, 724-863-1200. Everyone will gather at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Monday for a funeral service. Interment with military honors will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park in North Huntingdon Township.
