David L. Gessells
June 29, 1939 - September 4, 2022 (Age 83)
David Leroy Gessells passed away at Grant Hospital on Sunday, September 4, 2022. He was 83 years old. Born to the late Harry and Kathryn Collins Gessells on June 29, 1939 in Union Furnace, Ohio.
He went on to serve with the United States Army where he honorably served for 13 years. He and Linda owned and operated the Ashville Coffee Shop.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Linda; children: Sharon Imler, Jennifer (John) Darst, D.J. (Erin) Rhodes and Beth Bailey; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; siblings Beverly Lawrence and Joyce (Joe) Hunsaker; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Betty Gillispie; and his canine companion, Winnie.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his children: Barbara Sharp, Mark Gessells and David Gessells; granddaughter Amanda Gessells; siblings: Donnie Gessells, Edward Gessells and Sylvia Nice.
Family and friends will be received from 11-1pm, Friday, September 9, 2022 at SCHOEDINGER NORTH, 5554 Karl Road in Columbus where his Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm that afternoon. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Northlawn Memory Gardens in Westerville.
