David Lazar

Ted Lazar, 90, of South Zanesville, passed away on Saturday July 26, 2025. He was born on February 7, 1935 in Sonora, Ohio. He was retired from General Electric in New Concord. He served on the South Zanesville Fire Department for 60 years and had been a past fire chief. Following retirement he worked for Fink’s Used Cars for a number of years. He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Lazar to whom he was married from June 5, 1965-Aug. 4, 2019. He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren and enjoyed feeding the birds and his two dogs Taisley and Kymba. Graveside services will be announced soon. South Zanesville Fire Department will have the honor of transporting his earthly remains to their final resting place at Zanesville Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family would encourage the community to continue supporting the annual South Zanesville Fire Department Chicken Barbeque held on the first Sunday of June. The funeral procession will leave the South Zanesville Fire Department at 11:00 a.m. Thursday July 31, 2025 and proceed to Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
