David M. Predajna

June 9, 1935 - April 4, 2023 (Age 87)

David M. Predajna, 87, of Greensburg, PA, passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2023, at Excela Health, Westmoreland Hospital. He was born in Braddock, PA, on June 9, 1935, a son of the late Andrew and Frances (Sulej) Predajna. David was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Martha (Lewis) Predajna, as well as by his siblings and their spouses, Stephen (Caroline) Predajna, Frances Predajna, Mildred (Glenn) Diehl, (Margaret (Michael) Sitko, Agnes (John) McCloskey, Rita (Herbert) Sweat, Andrew Predajna, and his sister-in-law Ruth Valore. He is survived by his son Jeffrey (Debbie) Predajna, his daughter Rachelle (Mark) McKee, his grandchildren, David J. Predajna, Kristin Predajna, Jenna McKee, brother-in-law Samuel Valore, and numerous nieces and nephews.

David grew up on the family farm and in later life returned to live there for several years. He was a 1953 graduate of Sewickley High School. Prior to opening his own businesses, he was employed at Robertshaw Controls Company, after which he owned and operated Mister Donuts in Greensburg and Monroeville, as well as Amerola Sports, Inc., in Lawrenceville. Not one to retire, he was a driver for Labcorp until 2019. David enjoyed taking the roads less traveled to reach the many places he visited, spending time with his grandchildren, family gatherings, finding new restaurants, visiting with his Redmont Place neighbors, and a good cup of coffee. He was a Christian by faith and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Irwin.

As per his wishes, he will be cremated and a Memorial Service will held August 12th at 10:30 a.m. First Presbyterian Church in Irwin, PA. a committal servcie will follow at Westmoreland County memorial park. The family requests that contributions be made in his memory to the First Presbyterian Church of Irwin, PA, the American Legion, the Humane Society of Westmoreland County, or a charity of your choice.
