March 16, 1929 – March 26, 2026 (Age 97)

David Leroy Morgan, Sr., 97, of Severna Park, MD, died March 26, 2026, at home.

Born March 16, 1929, in Barrelville, MD, he was the son of the late Thomas Russell Morgan and Nanny Belle (Scott) Morgan.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 74 years, Iva Mae Morgan; his son, David L. Morgan, Jr.; and his siblings, Betty Gordon, Russell Morgan, Dorothy Stimmel, Ronald Morgan, William Morgan, John Morgan, and Thomas Morgan.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army, guarding the Panama Canal while it was being built as well as during the Korean Conflict. David was a lifetime member of Old Rail Post #6025, V.F.W., Mt. Savage and Paradise Post #79, American Legion, New Port Ritchey, FL.

David was a barber for 50 years, starting his career at the Naval Training Center in Bainbridge and then owning Dave’s Barber Shop in Mt. Savage, Baltimore, Bladensburg, and Town and Country Barber Shop in Bowie, MD. He and his wife relocated to New Port Richey, FL, where he owned Dave’s Barber Shop until his retirement at the age of 69.

Survivors include his two daughters, Mary Ann Weaver and Barbara Haskell (Jim); grandchildren Jeffrey Bell (Enas), Nicole Flory (Josh), David Morgan III, Daniel Haskell (Nancy), Stephanie Blade (Nolan), and Brett Haskell; great grandchildren Yasmeen Bell, Nour Bell, Joshua Morgan, Aurora Morgan, Emma Flory, Ethan Flory, Jeremiah Flory, Ella Flory, Hunter Haskell, Adalyn Haskell, Austin Blade, Blake Blade, and Micah Blade; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Thursday from noon until 1 PM. The funeral service will follow at 1 PM.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens, where military honors will be accorded by Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
