Debbie Jean Fisher

Debbie Jean (Lengel) Fisher, 67, of Schwenksville, PA, passed away on November 19, 2023, at Phoenixville Hospital. Born in Pottstown, PA, on February 19, 1956, Debbie was the daughter of the late Jacob C. Lengel and Bernice Noll (Rhoads) Lengel.

Debbie graduated from Owen J. Roberts High School in 1974. She worked as an accounts receivable clerk for two years at Mrs. Smith’s Pies, a secretary for five years at Empire Steel Castings, a data entry operator for 22 1/2 years at CNA/Encompass Insurance Company, and as a medical clerk for five years at PMA in Limerick. Debbie was a lifetime and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church in Pottstown, where she served as a greeter, usher, lector, and counter. She also folded the bulletins and participated on the church’s Relay for Life team. She volunteered at Pottstown Hospital, Greenfield Senior Living of Perkiomen Valley, and helped with church services at Manatawny Manor and Sanatoga Center. In her spare time, Debbie enjoyed watching NASCAR races, gardening, completing word search puzzles, and spending time with dogs.

Debbie is lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Thomas Scangarella, Downingtown, PA; her nieces, Nicole (& Chris) Scangarella-Oman, Mount Laurel, NJ, and Megan Scangarella, Haverford, PA; her nephew, Craig (& Clare) Scangarella, Downingtown, PA; her two grandnieces and one grandnephew; as well as many cousins and friends who will miss Debbie deeply.

A memorial service will take place on November 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1101 E. High St., Pottstown, PA 19464. The church will be open for seating at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place after the service at Highland Memorial Park, 701 Farmington Ave., Pottstown, PA 19464
