She was predeceased by : her husband Michael Hamlett; and her parents, Dwight Blackmon and Rachel Blackmon. She is survived by : her children, Kim Deaton (Adam), Tyler Hamlett and Matthew Hamlett (Erin Elizabeth); her grandchildren, Cooper Deaton, Yates Hamlett and Elsie Gray Hamlett; her sisters, Teresa Sapp (Gene), Barbara (George) and Darlene (Ken); and her nieces and nephews, Teresa Nickol, Donald Nickol, Taylor Sapp, Nikki Smith, Angela Adams, Calvin Hamlett and Teresa Hamlett.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 5th 2022 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gaskin Funeral Service (14617 Lawyers Rd, Matthews, NC 28104). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, July 6th 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Sunset Memory Gardens (8901 Lawyers Rd, Mint Hill, NC 28227).
Debbie's final days were spent with her children by her side as she won the fight against Alzheimer's.
