Delano R. Hartman

Delano Ronald Hartman, 92, of The Villages, FL passed away on Monday September 14th in the hospital at Leesburg, FL.
Born on November 27th, 1933 in Lancaster, PA. He was the son of the late Sarah Behney Hartman and Peter McKinley Hartman. After graduating from J.P. McCaskey high school in 1952 he got a job at Trojan Boat Company building boats. He Married Belva Ellen Gibbs in 1954 and they celebrated 58 anniversaries before her passing in 2013. In 1958 he opened Hartman & Lapp Marine Sales & Service with his partner, Richard Lapp. They built the business and ran it for 38 years before retiring. After retirement Del & Belva spent a lot of time in Florida and traveling other places as well. They ended up becoming Florida residents living in the Florida Keys and later on settling in at The Villages. Del enjoyed going to live music shows. His favorite acts being The Happenings and The Four Aces.
He is survived by three children, Dennis, Cindy, and Brian, and one granddaughter, Emma. Also one brother, Dale. Also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters and two half brothers.
A service will be held at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA on Tuesday , September 22nd with a viewing starting at 10:00 AM and service following at 11:00.
