Delores Mertz
November 13, 1949 - August 22, 2024 (Age 74)
Delores E. (Mishler) Mertz, 74, of Elizabethtown, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Thursday, August 22, 2024. She was born on Sunday, November 13, 1949 to the late John and Bessie (Steinmetz) Mishler. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years since July of 2017, Paul H. Mertz.
Delores was a faithful member of the Florin Church, Mount Joy and worked at the Elizabethtown College for 27 years. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, spending time with her friends and being at the cabin in Huntingdon County. More than anything she enjoyed being with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She is survived by her daughers: Danielle E. Becker and Desiree E. Peiffer (Dustin); grandchildren, Jessica Lawson (Grant), Jordan Long (Josh), Janelle, Jason, Christopher, and Curtis Becker, Emma, Carter, and Colton Peiffer; great grandson, Lincoln Long; a great granddaughter, baby Lawson on the way; sisters, Lorraine Boyer and Anna Mary Patterson; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister, Joyce Clemens and a son-in-law Robert Becker.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 1PM at the Florin Church of the Brethren, 815 Bruce Ave., Mount Joy, PA 17552 with Pastor Thomas Weber officiating. A time of visitation will be held from noon until the start of the service. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Ephrata.
