Dennis A. Johnson

Dennis A. Johnson, 75, of Greensburg, died Thursday, April 14, 2022, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born May 25, 1946, in Greensburg, a son of the late Earl R. “Gabby” and Betty Jean (Sickenberger) Johnson. Denny was an Air Force veteran. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Hutchinson and Gunter, Inc. He was a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church, Greensburg. Denny was a life member of Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department Hose Co. No. 8, the Pennsylvania State Fireman’s Association, and the Westmoreland County Fireman’s Association. He went to the Aerobics Center daily with many of his friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Earl R. “Butch” Johnson Jr. He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane (Saxton) Johnson; his son, Shawn R. Johnson (Laura A.), of Alexandria, VA; his daughter, Jamie K. Johnson, of Greensburg; three grandchildren, Heather K. Bolen, Greyson R. Johnson, and Harper E. Johnson; his brother, Richard L. Johnson (Margaret), of Greensburg; two nephews, Scott M. Johnson (Ashley) and Matthew Johnson (Courtney); a great-niece and great-nephew; and many special friends. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. A funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dawn Lynn Check officiating. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at 7 PM Monday in the funeral home.
