Dennis L. Barnes

Of North Braddock, age 55, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025.

Dennis was the beloved son of Helen (Olshefski) Barnes and the late David Barnes. He was the treasured brother of David W. Barnes of Baltimore and Daniel J. (Kelly Burns) Barnes of Peters Twp.

Dennis was the cherished uncle of Michael, Stephen and D.J. Barnes and also Nathaniel and Daniel Barnes.

He was the proud great-uncle of Brandon Barnes.

Dennis was the nephew of Richard (Pauline) Olshefski, Wanita (late Donald) Semifero, late John Olshefski; and also the late Donald (surviving spouse Patricia) Barnes and late Elaine (surviving spouse Ed) Mramor.

Dennis is also survived by many cousins and his dear friends Robert and Mark.

Dennis was a 1988 graduate of Eastern Area High School and was a long time employee as a maintenance person at McDonald’s in Monroeville. He was the biggest and most long suffering, anguished Pittsburgh Pirate fan. Besides rooting in vain for his Buccos, Dennis enjoyed movies and eating out, especially at fast food restaurants. He also was a fan of attending high school basketball games, working out at Planet fitness and, for relaxation, playing video games. Dennis looked forward to his yearly trips to Ocean City, MD with his brother, Dan.

Dennis Barnes' journey through life was marked by his ability to find contentment in the everyday and to face each day with resilience and a positive attitude.

All are welcome on Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800 where a Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.

Dennis will be laid to rest privately at Penn Lincoln Cemetery.
