Dennis Lee Kirby

Dennis Lee Kirby, age 68, of Fort Mill, SC, passed away on Monday, November 4, 2024, at home.

The family is hosting a funeral service that will be at Doby’s Bridge Presbyterian Church on November 7. 2024 at 1PM. The family will be receiving friends an hour before the service.

Born in Conway, SC, he was the son of James Boyce Kirby Jr. and the late Alice Evelyn Thomas Kirby. He was a graduate of UNCC Charlotte where he obtained a bachelor’s degree of science and was an employee of Chaski Courier where he ran his own delivery routes. He enjoyed anything outer space or extraterrestrial related, including Star Trek and area 51. He enjoyed going on cruises, camping, and vacationing in general. But most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. His favorite past time was watching his wife go nuts over sports. He loved going to auctions, if he saw an item he liked he kept his hand up until he got it. He was very fascinated with flashlights, kerosene lamps, walking canes and knives. He was very grateful for the exceptional care of the Interim Hospice and Healthcare staff, especially nurse Jessica and Payton.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his stepmother Karen Kirby; his loving wife of 40 years, Kathy Lynn Kirby; his siblings, James Boyce Kirby III (Ann), William Richard Kirby and many nieces and nephews.
