Diego Mantilla

October 5, 1996 – February 15, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Diego Mantilla on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the age of 28. Diego was born on October 5, 1996, and was a cherished son, brother, and friend. He is survived by his mother, Maria Mayhuasca; his father, Julio Mantilla; his brother, Christian Mayhuasca and sister-in-law Jeanette Mayhuasca (Garcia).

Diego was known for his infectious energy and his love of laughter. With a passion for being the life of the party, Diego thrived when surrounded by friends and family. His presence could always be felt in the room, whether through the sound of his laughter or of him belting out his favorite songs, inspired by his love for music. Diego had a special way of making every gathering brighter and more joyful. Diego was also a devoted companion to his beloved dog, Bella, who brought him comfort and love throughout his life. Diego’s warmth, his big heart, and his carefree spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Diego’s life will be held at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, Sunday February 23rd, 2025 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

A funeral service will be held at St. John Neumann’s Catholic Church at 12:00pm on Monday February 24th, 2025 followed by burial at Sunset Memory Gardens.

Con tristeza en nuestros corazones, despedimos hoy a Diego, un hombre fuerte, valiente y lleno de amor. Su cariño y su espíritu inquebrantable seguirán siendo una inspiración para todos nosotros. Le sobreviven, su Madre Maria Mayhuasca, Padre Julio Mantilla y hermano Christian Mayhuasca.

Diego era un hijo, hermano y amigo muy querido por todos los que tuvimos el placer de conocerlo. Ejemplo a seguir, a pesar de las dificultades, fue un guerrero siempre con una sonrisa llena de optimismo hacia la vida, la cual él amó y disfrutó. Aunque físicamente tuvo límites él era un espíritu libre, su presencia sobresalía entre la multitud. Tenía pasión sobre la música, le encantaba cantar, bailar, compartir con sus seres queridos, reír a carcajadas. Un ser extraordinario al cual vamos a seguir amando y recordando, porque, aunque no esté físicamente, siempre vivirá en nuestros recuerdos y corazones. Ahora el cielo es quien disfrutará de tus cantos y carcajadas. Esto no es un adiós es un hasta pronto. Te amamos.

Celebramos la vida de Diego, tendremos un velorio en Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service, el 23 de Febrero de 1:00 a 5:00pm.

Lunes 24 de Febrero a las 12:00pm se conmemorada una Misa en St. John Neumann Catholic Church y seguidamente el sepelio en Sunset Memory Gardens.
