Dolly McKee
January 30, 1935 - March 8, 2025 (Age 90)
On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Dolly Mullis McKee went home to be with her Savior.
Born to C. Wilburn and Beulah Mullis on January 30 1935, Dolly grew up surrounded by a loving family on a farm in Union County where she learned the value of hard work and dedication.
She married Charles Hathcock and moved to the growing city of Charlotte, North Carolina. There they built their family home, raised two children and started the business C&D Draperies. After the passing of Charles, Dolly married Horace McKee in 1981. They lived out their golden years together playing cards with friends and being very active in their church. A true prayer warrior, Dolly prayed for her family and friends every day. She also kept a diligent phone and prayer ministry calling shut ins and checking in with the sick and elderly. Her greatest joy was her church and growing in the Lord. It was her earnest prayer that everyone she came in contact with came to know Jesus as their personal Savior.
Dolly was preceded by her parents, C. Wilburn Mullis and Beulah Hatley Mullis; sister, Jean Baucom; brother, JB Mullis; first husband, Charles Hathcock; and son, Jeff Hathcock.
She is survived by her husband, Horace McKee; daughter, Lora Busse,(Bill); granddaughter, Kassy Hurst (Clint); grandson, Cody Busse; grandson, CJ Hathcock (Jennifer); great-grandson, Trey; brother, Ted/Mindy Mullis; as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at McEwen Funeral Service-Mint Hill Chapel, with a funeral service following at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment is private.
