Dolores Jean Exton

December 22, 1938 - October 25, 2022 (Age 83)

Dolores Jean Exton, 83, of Greensburg, died Tuesday, October 25, 2022, in The Grove at Irwin. She was born December 22, 1938, in Darragh, a daughter of the late Robert H. and Mary D. (Bazzo) Exton. Jean was a graduate of the Westmoreland Hospital School of Nursing and received her Master’s Degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania. After nursing school, she served as a nurse on the S.S. Hope hospital ship. Prior to retirement she had been a Registered Nurse and Assistant Director for Behavioral Health at Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Jean loved bluegrass music and animals, especially cats. She had a passion for traveling and had visited 14 different countries in her lifetime. Jean is also a Polio survivor and was treated at the same hospital that housed Dr. Salk’s research team that developed the Polio vaccine. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Alice Webberking. She is survived by her brother, Albert Exton and wife Sylvia, of Shippenville; her sister, Anna Marie Cirelli and husband Dr. James Cirelli D.D.S., of Jeannette; her brother-in-law, Carl Webberking, of Greensburg; her niece, Carrie Exton; two nephews, Todd Cirelli and wife Ann, and Erik Cirelli and wife Emily; and several grandnieces, grandnephews, and friends. Friends will be received from 12 to 1 PM Monday at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg where a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 PM with the Rev. Jeffrey Wylie officiating. Private interment will be in Westmoreland County Memorial Park.
