Dolores Zimmerman
May 12, 1930 - August 13, 2024 (Age 94)
Dolores I. (Caulwell) Zimmerman, 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 13, surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Hawthorne Caulwell and Luverne Aument, wife of Henry Aument. She was the widow of Earl W. (Bill) Zimmerman who preceded her in death in 2011.
She graduated from JP McCaskey HS, class of 1948. Some of her early endeavors included selling clothes for Fashion Wagon, being a teller at Commonwealth Bank, a former member of Gordonville Fire Co., and being past President of Willow Street Fire Department Auxiliary and the American Legion Auxiliary Post 409.
She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. She was a member of the Altar Guild and Friendly Circle, and Parish Life Organization. Once she could no longer attend physically, she enjoyed her frequent visits from Pastor John.
Dolores enjoyed doing fundraisers for veterans, her church, her children’s sporting events, and anyone or group that was in need. She had a caring heart and would put other’s needs before her own. Dolores was a very strong-willed woman and will be missed by many.
Dolores is survived by her sons, Ricky Charles Flory (Diana Oches), E. Martin Zimmerman (Sharon Faltine), William H. (Bill) Zimmerman (Carole Brooks); daughter, Deborah Mease (Robert); daughter-in-law, Peg Rettew Cross. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, and two (plus one on the way) great-great-grandchildren, all of whom have made her so proud.
In addition to her parents and husband, Dolores was preceded in death by her son, Barry Lee Flory, and his wife, Diana Jean, and sister, Joyce Thomas, and her husband Wayne.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dolores’ Funeral Service at Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Rd. Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Rieker officiating. There will be a viewing from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be immediately following the service at Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster.
