Donald F. Nagy

Donald F. Nagy, 91, of North Huntingdon, peacefully passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at UPMC East, Monroeville , surrounded by his family. He was born July 29, 1934, in South Huntingdon Township, son of the late Julius and Sophie Ann (Nodge) Nagy.

Don was an Army veteran. Prior to his illness , he was the proud owner of Don’s Barber Shop, located in North Huntingdon, and was still cutting hair at the age of 91. He was lovingly known as “Barber Don”; never turning down a customer, he was always there for them. He was very kind and giving to everyone he met. Don and his wife also owned Darwin Jewelry in Irwin, for many years. He enjoyed following Pittsburgh sports and Norwin athletics faithfully. Everyone that knew Don knew, he lived life to the fullest, loving his family and was definitely devoted to his work.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie “Pip”( Sweeney) Nagy ; four sisters, Goldie Kosina, Pearl Calcagni and Helen Odelli Angelo, and Linda Jones; two brothers, James Nagy and Robert Nagy; three brothers- in-law, Armand Janroy, John Guzzy and Willard Jones.

Don is survived by his two brothers, Charles (Joanne) Nagy, of Greensburg, Julius Nagy and Den Earhardt, of Delaware; four sisters, Betty Guzzy, of New Stanton, Dolores (Ronald) Leake, of Texas, Pat Nagy, of New Stanton, and Dianne Janroy, of Greensburg; two sisters-in -law, Betty Nagy of Greensburg and, Doris Nagy of Oklahoma; numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews whom he loved dearly. Don will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and all his customers near and far. The family would like to thank UPMC East nursing staff and hospice for all their loving and compassionate care. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 22, 2026 at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA, 15637, A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May, 23, 2026, in the funeral home. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.
