Doris Jean Phillips, 93, of Johnstown died on Saturday September 10, 2022 at Harmony House Manor in Johnstown. She was born on February 11, 1929, in Bedford, a daughter of the late Harper I. and Margaret (Burkett) Harclerode. She married Francis J. Phillips Jr. and he preceded her in death on February 28, 1985. She is survived by a son Michael L. Phillips of Bedford, two grandchildren: Kelley Phillips of Bedford, and Brigetta Pieper of Springfield, IL; seven great-grandchildren, and a friend and caretaker Deb Suder of Bedford. She was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Imler.
Doris Jean graduated from Bedford High School in 1948 and was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Bedford. She worked as a dispatcher for Bedford Ambulance from 1971 - 1978 and was the Bedford Borough Tax Collector from 1985 - 1994. She enjoyed Baking and her flowers.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at 11:00 am in the Chapel, at the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home in Bedford, with Rev. Brady Plummer officiating. Burial will be private. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
