Dorothy A. (Johnson) Tom

Dorothy A. Tom, 94, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on December 19, 2021. She was born on December 30, 1926 in Nashport, Ohio to Samuel Parks Johnson and Florence Dunn Johnson. Dorothy attended the Green Valley School and Nashport High School, graduating in 1945. She married Verne B. Tom in Toledo, Ohio on May 15, 1949.

Dorothy is survived by her sons Mark (Juanita) Tom and Bruce (Deloris) Tom. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Bogenrife, Mitch (Michelle) Tom, Jason (Monica) Tom, and Missy (Brad) Elliot. Step-grandchildren Sean (Christy) Herron, Steven (Keeiev) Herron, and Shanna (Mike) Brooks. Additionally, Dorothy is survived by great-grandchildren Wyatt, Cole, and Miles Bogenrife, Matt (Clare) Herron and Megan (Nick) Curran, Emma and Rex Elliot and Mckenna and Chandler Miller. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Verne, her parents, and four sisters Mary (Ralph) Felumlee, Helen (Kenny) Felumlee, Ruth (Harlan) Foltz, and Nancy (Gerald) Fisher.

Dorothy and Verne spent many years as members of the Eastern Star.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday December 21, 2021 at the William Thompson & Son Funeral Home 5765 Gladstone Drive White Cottage and one hour prior to the service which will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday December 22, 2021. Rev. Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Zanesville Memorial Park.
