Dorothy J. "Dottie" Brooks, 96 of Millersville passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Magnolia Place, Lancaster. Born on June 12, 1927 in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Charles R. and Gladys Jones Bushong. She was the wife of Leon Brooks, Jr., who preceded her in death on September 23, 1989.
Dottie attended Trinity Lutheran Church, Lancaster for many years. She retired from KD Tools and had previously worked at Alcoa and RCA. She enjoyed gardening, shopping and reading, especially Danielle Steel novels. She loved to fuss over children and babies.
Dottie was a kind and considerate lady who will be missed by her daughter, Gwendolyn J. Saylor of Mountville and her son, Leon C. "Tim", husband of Renny Brooks of Millersville. She is also survived by her grandsons, Jeffrey, husband of Susan Saylor of Orlando, FL and Eric, husband of Jen Brooks of Southern Pines, NC and her great grandsons, Landon and Cooper. She was preceded in death by her identical twin sister, Thelma M. Suydam.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dottie's graveside service on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at 2PM in the Conestoga Memorial Park with Pastor Robert Garvey officiating.
