Dorothy M. Michling

Dorothy Michling of Monroeville, formerly of Turtle Creek, age 90, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.

Born the daughter of the late Robert Hunter and Martha (Penrose) Hunter.

Beloved wife of Leroy “ Tex” Michling for 67 wonderful years.

Loving mother of Leroy (Linnie) Michling, Dori Michling, and Louise Sullivan.

Preceded in death by her son, Robert (surviving spouse, Linda) Michling.

Cherished grandmother of Robert (Amanda) Michling, Katelyn (Sean) O’Connor, Dilan (Mercedes) Michling, Jake (Chrissy) Michling, Carianne (Samuel Morris) Savage, Kathleen Sullivan, and Patrick (Kristen) Sullivan.

Adored great- grandmother of 7 great grandchildren.

Dear sister of Jean DeMatty and the late Martha Cynkar.

Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. She worked in many different industries throughout her life. A few jobs were working a secretary for a dental practice in downtown Pittsburgh, a cashier for Shop N’ Save in Monroeville, housekeeper for Woodhaven Nursing Home in Monroeville, and a sales associate in the bakery for Giant Eagle in Monroeville. Some of the best memories Dorothy shared are those she spent traveling to various destinations with her family. She enjoyed reading and completing word searches and puzzles. Dorothy was a faithful believer in Christ and was a longtime member of Monroeville United Methodist Church. Most of all, she treasured the time spent with her family.

Friends are welcome Sunday from 1-3 & 4-6 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Turtle Creek / Monroeville Chapel, 1111 Monroeville Ave., Turtle Creek, 412-823-9350, where a Funeral Service will be held Monday at 11:30 a.m.
