Dorothy M. Watson

May 26, 1926 - January 31, 2025 (Age 98)

Dorothy M. (Wright) Watson, 98, lifelong resident of Stowe, PA, entered eternal rest on Friday, January 31, 2025, joyfully reunited with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Known affectionately as "Mom Dot" or "Grandmom Dot" to all who loved her, she was a guiding light of faith, wisdom, and strength.

Born on May 26, 1926, she was a beloved daughter of the late Marcelious Wright and Marguerite Lena (Smith) Wright. In heaven, she was greeted with open arms by those who went before her—her parents, her sister Elizabeth A. Wright, her brothers Marcelious and Harry L. Wright, her husband Leroy Watson, and her children Pamela Butler, Kelly Hernandez, and Robert Carter.

Dorothy was a graduate of Pottsgrove High School and spent many years as a toll collector on the PA Turnpike, a job she embraced with dedication until her well-earned retirement.

Her faith was her foundation. As a devoted member of Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church in Pottstown, Dorothy filled her days with scripture, spiritual television, and a faith so strong it could move mountains.

Outside of her faith, you could find her doing two things she absolutely loved—whipping up the best homemade bread and keeping QVC in business. Dorothy had a no-nonsense way about her—straightforward, plain-spoken, and always keeping it real, a trait she proudly inherited from her mom.

Dorothy was a woman of faith, strength, and honesty—a matriarch who shaped generations. While she will be deeply missed, her love, wisdom, and those unforgettable rolls will live on forever.

Dorothy’s leaves behind her memories to be cherished by a sister Harriet E. Smith, and her eight sons: Mark Carter, Larry Carter, Sidney Porter, Keith Carter, Guy Carter, Kim Carter, Jay Carter Sr., and Timothy Carter. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held Friday, February 7, 2025, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Warker~Troutman Funeral Home inc, Pottstown. Home going service will promptly commence in the funeral home at 12:30 PM, with Rev. Dr. Darrell C. Brown Jr. officiating.

Graveside committal will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Pottstown.

Dorothy’s family finds peace in knowing that she is now home, reunited with her loved ones, and watching over them with that same no-nonsense love she always gave.
