Dorothy May (Warman) Everett, age 89, of Columbus, passed away Sunday evening, March 2, 2025, at her residence at Cherry Blossom Senior Living. Known to her family and friends as Dottie, she was born September 25, 1935, in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Wysner) Warman.
Dottie graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1953 and White Cross School of Nursing in 1956. She spent 50 years as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery and Employee Health at Riverside Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center. Dottie was an active member of Asbury South United Methodist Church and its Women’s Circle. She enjoyed walking, traveling, reading, quilting, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Dottie was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William Oscar Everett; son, William Edward Everett; and two sisters, Edna King and Marjorie Schrader.
She is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Everett and Gayle Henderson (Michael); daughter-in-law Robin Everett; grandchildren Emma Henderson, Rachel Henderson, Ashley Munro (Matt), Austin Everett (Stacie), Alyssa Fornash (James), and Alex Everett; and great-grandchildren, Grant, Owen, Kaiden, Clayton and Chloe. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
The visitation and funeral service will be held at DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 West Waterloo Street, Canal Winchester, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2025, and 12 p.m. on Friday preceding the funeral service, which will begin at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025, with Pastor Sherri Blackwell officiating.
Interment will follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Capital City Hospice, or Asbury South UMC.
