Dorothy Zimmerman

Dorothy M. Zimmerman, 90, formerly of Ephrata and Lititz passed away Saturday morning, January 27, 2024 at Spruce Manor in Reading. Born in Lancaster on March 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Elias and Dorothy Black Rudy. She was the wife of Leonard D. Zimmerman who preceded her in death in February of 2010.

Dorothy graduated from Ephrata High School. Dorothy was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, Kissel Hill for over 60 years. She enjoyed many activities at church over the years. She was an active member of the Rothsville Fire Co. Auxiliary for several years, including serving as treasurer. She enjoyed bowling, baking, watching game shows and watching the Phillies. She enjoyed time spent with family.

Dorothy will be missed by her sons, Dennis L., husband of Dianna Zimmerman and L. Scott, husband of Cynthia Zimmerman, all of Lancaster; 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara A. Lawrence, grandson, Andrew Zimmerman, brother, Elias Rudy and sisters, Kathryn Henry and Josephine Eby.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend Dorothy's funeral service on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11AM from the Salem Lutheran Church, 26 Owl Hill Road, Lititz. Friends will be received at the church on Friday from 10AM to 11AM. Private interment will be held in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster. Please omit flowers, memorial remembrances may be made in her memory to Salem Lutheran Church.
