E. Aldean Rosensteel

E. Aldean Rosensteel, 76, of Madison, passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024, in Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon. She was born March 4, 1948, in Harrison City, daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Heasley) Urtin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth Rosensteel in 2019.

Prior to her retirement, she was a custodian having worked for Elliott in Jeannette for many years and prior to there, she worked for General Tire and was so proud to make tennis balls. She was a past member of both the Penn Zion Lutheran Church in Harrison City and the Madison United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Thunderbirds Majorette Team in Harrison City in her younger years. Her favorite flower was a yellow rose. She enjoyed listening to music and was an avid reader. She loved her family and enjoyed going out to eat with her family and friends. Aldean had smile that would light up a room. She is now at peace, reunited with the love of her life, her beloved Ken.

Aldean is survived by her brother, Charles G. (Carol) Urtin; two brothers-in-law, Alfred Rosensteel and Larry Olson; a sister-in-law, Arlene (John) Merlino; four special nieces, Sara (Alan) Huey, Christine (Royal) Laurent, Barbara Grec and Geoff , Mary (Thomas) Deyarmin and special nephew, Steven Rosensteel; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. whom she loved dearly. Aldean will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and neighbors. She had a heart of gold and her love for the sunshine will forever be remembered. The family would like to thank Dr. Gill and staff and the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Irwin and Redstone Hospice, for all their love and compassionate care given to Aldean.

Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, September 29, 2024 at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 30, 2024 in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Herminie VFW Post 8427, 501 Church Street, Herminie, PA 15637 in memory of Aldean.
