Edith Frenzley
March 3, 1938 - February 21, 2023 (Age 84)
Edith Patricia “Pat” Frenzley of Zanesville, OH, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at the age of 84. She passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospice Care (Morrison House) with her dear friend Becky by her side. Pat’s journey began on March 3, 1938, in Wheeling, WV where she was born to the late Hayes Hamilton Harris Jr. and Gladys Francis Lett-Russell. Pat was the eldest of her sisters: Sherry and Ginger. The family later settled in Cambridge, OH where she grew up surrounded by her cousins. Pat went on to graduate from Cambridge High School where she displayed her skills as a majorette.
After high school, Pat went on to marry John R. Frenzley on October 26, 1957, and remained a dedicated wife for 64 years. The couple settled in Zanesville, OH, which would be the place she called home. She started her first job at RCA, where she stayed for the next seven years. Pat continued on to work at First National Bank, where she retired after a diligent 31 years. She was also a co-owner of one of the largest disposal companies in Southeastern Ohio, Suburban Disposal. Pat’s resilience throughout her life’s journey as well as her kindness, strength and soft spokenness was nothing but a true display of the graceful woman she was. Pat was a member of Union Baptist Church and later became a member of St. Paul AME Church where she served as a Steward, and was a part of the Missionary Society, and Senior Choir. In her free time, she loved doing word search puzzles, reading her Bible, and chatting on the phone with family and friends.
Pat is survived by her sister, Ginger Lee Rush; beloved niece Patricia Ann (Rick) Smith; great-niece Destiny Lea Smith; dear friends: Becky (Phil) Palmer, Sarah (Paul) Ward, Tom (Linda) Cromwell, Jessica Singh, Jennifer Parmiter and Josh Snouffer; in addition to a host of other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Hayes Harris and Gladys Lett-Russell, she is also preceded in death by her husband, John R. Frenzley Jr.; her sister, Sherry Ann Smith; and brothers in law: Robert W. Frenzley and William C. Rush Sr.
She will be dearly missed by her loved ones who now celebrate the fact that she is at peace in His arms. Lovingly submitted by the family.
Calling hours will be from 11AM to 1PM Friday, March 3, 2023, at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. The funeral service will begin at 1PM in the Snouffer Chapel with Rev. Clifton Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
