Edward C. Lloyd

Edward C. Lloyd, 78. of Lower Burrell, died Monday September 14, 2026 in UPMC East, Monroeville. He was born in Natrona Heights on February 4, 1948 to the late Presley C. and Florence (McGrady) Lloyd.
Ed was an Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War and earning a purple heart for his bravery. He worked as a butcher for the Giant Eagle in Sarver, where he retired in 2013. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Roman Catholic Church, Lower Burrell and the Lower Burrell VFW Post 92. He enjoyed attending car cruises whenever he had the chance, watching the Pittsburgh Penguins, woodworking, home remodeling, fishing and rifle shooting when he was younger.
He is survived by his two daughters Michele (Bryan) Hetrick of Venetia, Rebecca (Christopher) Rostand of Plum, four grandchildren Ella Hetrick, Cecelia Rostand, Maxx Hetrick, and Hannah Rostand, and three sisters Nancy (Charles) Linderman of New Kensington, Jeannie Arbuckle of Lower Burrell, and Patricia (Jim) Massarelli of Monroeville.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 47 years Diane Lou (Hazen) Lloyd.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. where Prayers of Transfer will be said Friday at 9:30 AM followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church. Burial with military honors by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations made in his name to the American Cancer Society.
