Edward G. Ligus, 94, of Greensburg, died Thursday, May 26, 2022, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born January 23, 1928, in Greensburg, a son of the late Thomas A. and Mary A. (Denitson) Ligus. Edward was a Navy veteran serving during World War II. For his service, he received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, and Victory Medal. Prior to retirement he had been employed by Conmold, Inc., Latrobe. He was a member of Camp Point Blank, Fox Hill Athletic Club, and was a life member of the American Legion Post No. 18, Slickville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Jane (Smith) Ligus; his son, Frederick T. Ligus; daughter, Kim I. (Ligus) Huey; and two brothers, Thomas Ligus and Philip Ligus. He is survived by two sons, Edward G. Ligus, Jr. and wife Stacy (Shume) Ligus, of North Huntingdon, and Eric J. Ligus and wife Dawn (Henry) Ligus, of Forbes Road; son-in-law, Keith Huey; daughter-in-law, Nancy (Ryan) Ligus; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 4 PM Saturday, May 28, 2022 at the LEO M. BACHA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 516 Stanton Street, Greensburg. Private inurnment will take place in Westmoreland County Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dawn Ligus for her loving care of Edward the past three years.
