Eleanor Wright
November 1, 1936 - August 25, 2021 (Age 84)
Eleanor Wright went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 25, 2021. Eleanor was born November 1, 1936, in Winston-Salem, NC to William and Sallie Jordan.
Eleanor was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church from 1997 until her passing. Eleanor loved the Lord and was active in the church. She helped with Sunday school, ACT Teens, Vacation Bible School, choir, and lady’s prayer groups. She also played piano for weddings. Eleanor was a skilled organist and served in that capacity at Mt. Harmony Baptist, as well as Mint Hill Baptist. She also played the organ during morning service at Presbyterian Hospital Chapel during the early 80’s.
Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 64 years, Carl “Gene” Wright, and her son, William “Carl” Wright. She is survived by her sons, Gary and David (Karen), and daughter-in-law, Judy Wright, and her brother, Gilbert Jordan. Grand children Lisa Robison, Christy Pitzer (Shane), Gina and Jason Wright, Ellen Steele (Harry), Hayley Wright, and Jordan Wright. Great-grandchildren Austin, Ashlynn, and John Weaver, Caleb, Ethan, and Scarlett Steele, Tyler and Ryder Mullis. Great-great-granddaughter Carly Black.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 3:00pm at Lowe-Neddo Funeral Home, 4715 Margaret Wallace Road in Matthews. Interment will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens, 8901 Lawyers Road in Charlotte.
