Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Mester
89, of Lower Burrell, died Sunday August 16, 2026 in her home. She was born in Natrona Heights on December 9, 1936 to the late Vincent and Mary Bandik Bohdal and has been a resident of Lower Burrell since 1960.
Mrs. Mester was a member of Mount St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington and a former member of St. Margaret Mary, Lower Burrell. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, dancing, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Michael Lee Mester, children Laura Ann (Larry) Milito of Allegheny Twp., Michael Vincent (Sara) Mester of New Kensington, Mark Andrew (Sheila) Mester of Carnation, WA, Jacqueline Miller of New Kensington, Lawrence (Karen) Mester of Lower Burrell, twelve grandchildren Lisa (Brian), Jessica, Vincent, Frank (Christina), Sydney, Olivia, Elijah, Mark (Yuping), Shannon, Michael, Zachary (Maria), and Joshua, sixteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Bohdal, Helen Bohdal, Margaret Varos, Anna Sarakon, and Josephine Smith.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at THE RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Rd. at Alder St. where Prayers of Transfer will be said Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Mt. St. Peter Church. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
