Elma L. Stewart

Elma Lois Griffin Stewart, 92, of Charlotte, NC passed away on July 22, 2022.
Lois was married in High Point, NC on September 6, 1953 to Samuel David Stewart. Later, they moved to Charlotte where they spent many wonderful years together. Lois will be most remembered as a faithful wife and homemaker of 59 years, and a cherished mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a long time member of United Wesleyan Church in Charlotte. Her hobbies included bowling, playing games, gardening and eating good old fashioned country cooking. Lois was known to laugh and smile and believed in being kind to all. She loved her family well and she loved the Lord Jesus!
She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel David Stewart, her parents, William L and Mattie Griffin, 3 sisters; Cora Herndon, Mollie Thomas and Martha Griffin and 4 brothers; Ray, William F., Paul, and Floyd (Pete) Griffin.
She leaves behind her children; Jan (Ed) Williams, Eric (Becky) Stewart and Mitzi (Phil) Grady. Grandchildren; Emily, Michelle, Nicole, Kevin, Brianna, Jasmin, Alex and Primrose and Great Grandchildren; Avelyn, Bryce, Beckett, Noble and Cannon.
Lois' family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00am on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at McEwen Funeral Service - Mint Hill Chapel. Funeral services will follow in the chapel at 11:00am with Pastor Patrick Dagenhart presiding. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill.
