"Emery Harper glad to meet you, call me "Shorty." Age 85, of Monroeville, passed away surrounded by his loving family, Sunday, June 5, 2022. Beloved husband of 65 years to Carol F. (Chilcoat) Harper; loving father of Marcy (Tony) Petrocelli, Sandy (Robert) Siverd, Lynn Harper and Lori (Joseph) Uziel; cherished grandfather of Lisa Petrocelli Tanner, Michael Petrocelli, Robert Siverd, Tyler Uziel, Kaylee Chenoweth, Kassi Hogue and Travis Uziel. Shorty is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Harper; brother-in-law, George (Judy) Chilcoat; and sister-in-law, Sherry (George) Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl and Blanche Elizabeth (Emerick) Harper; father and mother-in-law, George (Elsie) Chilcoat; sisters, Gladys and Shirley Harper; and brothers, Thomas and JW Harper. Shorty attended Turtle Creek High School and married his childhood sweetheart, Carol, in the Old Stone Church. He was a Mason for 50 years and worked as a realtor. He loved golfing, fishing, hunting, bowling, stock car driving and taking trips to the beach. He had a great sense of humor and most importantly was an amazing family man. He was a loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved his children and all who came after. He also loved his grand-puppies, Raven and Baylee. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, June 7 from 2-8 PM at the JOBE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC. (MONROEVILLE/PLUM CHAPEL) 445 Beatty Road, Monroeville (412-856-4747), where a funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 10 AM. All guests are asked to wear a mask for all inside services. Burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
