Ernest E. Jenkins

Ernest Eugene “Ernie” Jenkins, 79, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at The Ohio State University Medical Center. He was born November 17, 1941 in Frazeysburg to the late Henry and Ada Riley Jenkins. He retired from Paul Contracting, where he was a Union Laborer. He was a member of the American Legion Post #29 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #302. He loved camping, dancing and mowing the grass.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Shirley Wickham Jenkins; five children: Christy (Doug) Hambel, David Jenkins, Lori (Peter Dindial) Jenkins; Darla Jenkins and Jill (Danny) Hayes; two brothers: Jim (Dolly) Jenkins and Earl (Cindy) Jenkins; two sisters: Barbara Thomas and Charlotte Jenkins; 21 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Larry Leonard; sisters: Mary Alice Shuman, Norma Beall, Donna Roberts and Frances Allen; brothers: Robert Jenkins, Thomas Jenkins, Carl Jenkins and Roy Jenkins; brothers in law: Clyde Thomas, John Shuman and Jim Beall
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8PM Sunday, October 31, 2021 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be at Noon, Monday, November 1 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park.
