Eva Marie Gibbs

Eva Marie (Scherph) Gibbs of Irwin passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loving family and friends. Eva was 94 years young when she was called home on Saturday, May 31, 2025. Eva was born on August 23, 1930, to the late Matthew Bernard and Mary C. (Osselborn) Scherph. Eva graduated from Irwin High School in June of 1949. After graduation, Eva was employed at the Westinghouse Mica Processing Plant, located in Irwin, PA. Eva had also been employed with the Borough of Irwin as both a school crossing guard and a meter maid. In addition to her parents, Eva was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Gibbs, in 1990, and her beloved golden retriever, GIGI. Eva is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Donovan of Austin, TX and Linda Mandalas (Doug) of Schererville, IN; a granddaughter Evalee Cruz also of Austin, TX, Fictive Kinship Donald and Paula Frey and Fictive Kinship granddaughters Erin Frey and Emily Jones (Steven); and many loving friends that were made while residing at the Irwin Manor.
