Fay L. Binkley
February 12, 1931 - September 28, 2023 (Age 92)
Fay L. Binkley, 92, of Lancaster, went peacefully to be in the presence of Jesus, on Thursday, September 28, 2023. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, Lebanon County, PA, she was the daughter to the late Henry D. and Sally P. (Grimes) Trautman. Fay was lovingly married for 64 years to her late husband Stanley R. Binkley who passed in 2017.
Fay was a 1949 graduate of Fredericksburg High School and 1953 graduate of Millersville State College with a Bachelor of Science in Library Science. Fay was employed as a librarian and 11th grade English teacher at Lampeter-Strasburg High School and later as a receptionist and hostess at the Fred F. Groff Funeral Home, Lancaster, from 1970-1989.
A devout woman, Fay was a longtime, devoted member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Lancaster, and could be found reading from her bible every day. Spending quality time with her twin girls, and her grand and great-grandchildren, fishing, time at the mountains at Hunting Camp in Whipple Dam/Huntingdon County, doing crossword puzzles, tending to her garden, and making some of the best soups were things that brought Fay joy. She was a member of the Mother of Twins Group which met monthly.
Fay is survived by her twins, Susan Holton and her husband, Robert, Jr. and Ann Louise and her partner, Jack Kennedy, Jr.; loving grandmother of Cory Holton (Tina), Kelly Wilburn (Mark), Nathaniel Holton, Evelyn Davis (Tristan), Sara Holton (fiancé Zach Young), Olivia Holton, Danielle Thomas and great-grandmother of Nora, Eli, Alex, Jonah, Elliot, Elsie and one expected soon, special aunt to many nieces and nephews. Her family gives all glory to God for over 92 years of very good health and for many and varied services He allowed for Fay.
Relatives and friends are invited to Fay’s Funeral at The Groffs Family Funeral Home, 528 W. Orange Street, Lancaster on Friday, October 6, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tim Sadler officiating. A Viewing will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. The interment will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park.
