Rock Hill, SC -Mr. Floyd Belton Carter, 86, passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021 at Pruitt Health in Rock Hill.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC with Reverend Daggett Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Park, Hollis Lakes Road. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm till 5:30 pm on Sunday, December 26, 2021 with Masonic Rites prior to visitation.
Born in Hamlet, NC, February 17, 1935 Mr. Carter was the son of the late John C. Carter and the late Annie Scott Carter. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. Carter, a son, Rickey Edward Carter, his daughter, Frieda Ann Carter Kerns, a grandson, Robbie Carter, his brothers, J D, Ray, Clarence and Jack Carter; his sisters, Margaret Rinehart, Helen Whitaker, and Shirley Mayberry. He was retired owner/operator of Floyd’s Metal Recycling. Mr. Carter was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, a member of Corinthian Masonic Lodge #416, York County Crescent Shrine Club, a member of American Legion Frank Roach Post #34 and a member of First Church of the Nazarene, Rock Hill.
Mr. Carter is survived by two sons, Andy Eugene (Jewell) Carter of Fort Lawn, SC and Robert A (Monica) Carter of York, SC; his son-in-law, Eric Kerns of York, SC; grandsons, Shane Carter, Travis (Shelly) Carter, Eric Lester (Allie) Kerns, II, Roland Carter Kerns, Joey Carter, Logan Carter, Michael Carter; a granddaughter, Holly (Javier) Vega; great-grandchildren, Trenton, Diego, Alex, MaKinleigh, Nellie, Kaylee, Karlee, Kelsey, and Karmen; two sisters, Lucille Andress of Troy, AL. and Gracie Vontella Wright of Warner Robbins, GA.
