Forrest Wayne Dreier

Forrest Wayne Dreier of Zanesville, Ohio passed away at his home surrounded by his family on September 14, 2024 at the age of 91.
Forrest was a loving and devoted husband of 58 years until the passing of the joy of his life, Carol in December of 2021. They were married at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roseville, Ohio on July 6, 1963.
Forrest was also preceded in death by his parents Roy and Opal (Flowers) Dreier, brother Warren and his wife Cheryl, younger brother Wendell and his wife Judy. He is survived by his sister Margaret and husband Doug Parsons.
Forrest Wayne is lovingly remembered/honored by his two sons. Kurt and his wife Gail (Vanasdale) Dreier and their 3 children (all of Zanesville): Isaac (Autumn Parker) Dreier, Lauren (Austin) Montgomery and Caleb (Morgan Jinkens) Dreier. Eric and his wife Jennifer (Fox) Dreier of Centerville (Dayton), Ohio with their 5 children: Andrew (22), Devin (20), Keltie (17), Luke (14) and Levi (11) Dreier. He has two great-grandchildren, Eloise (4) and Naomi (1). He is also remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Forrest was born in Ellis Station, Ohio, North Zanesville on March 17, 1933. He graduated from Lash High School of Zanesville in 1951. He then began work with his father’s business (Dreier Sheet Metal). In 1956, Forrest entered the Army and spent a majority of his service time stationed in France. After leaving the Army, Forrest returned to the family business where he worked until the mid-1980’s when he started his own heating, air conditioning and sheet metal company. Even after retiring, Forrest continued to provide custom sheet metal, copper and other metal items for local contractors.
Forrest enjoyed spending time with his family (especially his grandchildren). Forrest in his younger days, co-owned a Cessna 172 with his uncle Fred. As a young father, he transitioned out of full-sized airplanes and developed a love for model RC airplanes both building and flying. Forrest would often be seen at the ZARKS flying field, tinkering with his airplane engines in the basement or Dillon Dam flying his custom-built gliders.
The visitation will be held at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE, OH 43701 on Tuesday, September 17 from 5-8pm. An additional visitation will be an hour prior to the funeral service which will be held IN The Snouffer Chapel on Wednesday, September 18 at 11am. Burial to follow at Zanesville Memorial Park with Full Military Honors by George Selsam VFW Post 1058.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fred F. and Herman M. Dreier Foundation fund (https://bit.ly/DreierGift ) which supports Muskingum County residents who are university students in Pre-Medicine, Engineering, Veterinary Science or Agriculture as well as on-going ALS (“Lou Gehrig’s disease) research at Ohio State University.
