Frances Allen

Frances Allen, 81, of Springfield, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at WVU-Potomac Valley Hospital.
Born November 24, 1942 in Cumberland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Clysta Davis. Frances was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Shanholtzer; siblings, Mary Fochtman, Erma Yonker, Ernest Davis, Thomas Davis, James Davis, and Kenneth Davis; in-laws Norwood and Bernetta Borror, Brady and Estalene Shanholtzer, and Paul and Virginia Allen; and several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
Frances was a member of Graceland Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking care of her home, and especially being outdoors.
Frances is survived by her husband, Don Allen; her daughter, Lorraine Shanholtzer; her step-daughter, Jennifer Allen and partner, Tonya; her step-son, Scott Allen; siblings Harold Davis and wife Barbara, Jean Adams, and Jane Stonestreet and husband George; and several nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the ICU and Med Surg Staffs at WVU-Potomac Valley Hospital and the WVU Hospice-Keyser for their excellent care and the kindness and compassion they showed Frances. Also, Dr. William McBee, Jessica McBee, Sarah Proffitt, and all the staff of Mid-Atlantic Gynecologic Oncology and Cancer Center at Mon Health Medical Center, Morgantown, WV for all their wonderful care and compassion.
