Frances M. Pytlak

Frances M. Pytlak, 92, of Rillton, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2025, in Walden’s View Senior Living Personal Care, North Huntingdon, surrounded by her family. She was born July 18, 1932 in Rillton, daughter of the late Louis and Cecilia (Flanders) Shuster. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph E. Pytlak in 2016; daughter, Kathy and her husband Barry Hickey; two brothers, infant brother and Edward Shuster; sister, Mildred Higgins.

Frances was a member of Saint Edward Church in Herminie and the Sunshine Club. She enjoyed going to bingo with her family. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden picking flowers, but most of all spending time with her family was most important.

Frances is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Ron) Sedlak of Irwin; four sons, Joseph ( Kathy) Pytlak of Tarrs, David (Jody) Pytlak of North Huntington, Stan (Avis) Pytlak of Rillton and Jeff, (Laurie) Pytlak also of Rillton; 15 special grandchildren, and 10 special great -grandchildren whom she loved dearly; sister, Josephine Felger of Rillton; numerous nieces and nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.

Frances will be dearly missed by her family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank the staff at Walden’s View and Nova Hospice for all their loving care given to their mom.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at the JOSEPH W. NICKELS FUNERAL HOME INC., 404 Sewickley Ave., Herminie, PA 15637, 724-446-7251, at which time a funeral liturgy will be held in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Rillton VFD , 2561 Mars Hill Road, Rillton, PA 15678 in memory of Frances.
