Frances W. Cibak

Frances (Whyel) Cibak, 91, of Irwin, died Thursday, August 13, 2026, at home with family by her side. She was born June 19, 1935 in Gray’s Landing, a daughter of the late Harry and Elizabeth Whyel and also was preceded in death by her husband Richard W. Cibak, a daughter Elizabeth McKenzie, and siblings Genevieve Bowser, Pauline Blasco, and Robert, Harry, Margie, and James Whyel. Known to everyone as “Baba”, taking care of her family was most important to her. She enjoyed playing cards, playing bingo, and watching Steeler games. She is survived by her longtime companion George Richard Cook; her children Marlene F. Cibak (Jim) and Michael E. Cibak; special family member Judy DeBone; her grandchildren William Anthony McKenzie, Brad McKenzie (Jen), Brian McKenzie (Kaitlyn), and Amiee Cibak-Perkins; several great grandchildren; siblings Dolores Arnold, Alice Kobulinsky, Joseph Whyel, John Whyel, and Thomas Whyel; also numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 16, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, August 17. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
